EXQ Makes History with Rhaka Rhaka UK Album Launch at The Hangar, Wolverhampton
On Saturday 23rd August, Zimbabwean music made history in Wolverhampton as EXQ unveiled his new album Rhaka Rhaka at The Hangar. Hosted by ZiFM Stereo’s Noxy, the night marked the very first official UK album launch by a Zimbabwean artist – a cultural milestone delivered with flair and energy.
The event, put together by Kivos Santan of Straight Outta UK, was more than just a launch. It was a celebration of 25 years of EXQ’s contribution to Urban Grooves, a sound that has defined generations and continues to grow with him. From the backstage electrifying buzz to the packed out dance floor, the energy never dipped and fans were ready for a night they wouldn’t forget.
The evening was a showcase of talent and community. Awa Khiwe, Delroy, Trevor Dongo, Dj Stavo and Nutty O commanded the stage and all gave memorable sets. Eemoh had the audience on their feet with Dubula and Ngishutheni, while Master H’s unstoppable energy lit up the room and Anika’s vocals proved to be powerful and showstopping. DJ Tamuka, the producer behind Rhaka Rhaka and a cornerstone of Zimbabwean music, brought his unmatched artistry to the decks.
History was written again when Stunner stepped out for a surprise performance, sending the crowd into overdrive with Godo. Fans sang every lyric back, cementing the track’s place as a timeless anthem.
